Claude Jarman Jr. held his own while sharing the screen with Gregory Peck and Jane Wyman. It was his first on-screen performance. It’s a classic movie.
Paul Newman nailed his performance in this movie, but it wasn’t supposed to be him in the starring role. Tragedy in Hollywood led to one of the big breaks in Newman’s early career.
