“Oh, Miss Higgins! You’re the prettiest manager in baseball.” – Gene Kelly as Eddie O’Brien
For his role in To Kill A Mockingbird, Gregory Peck was honored with the Best Actor Academy Award. Several days after the ceremony he received this letter from his peer and friend Gene Kelly.
Watching this film is a wonderful experience. It’s got the feel of the great Hollywood studio classics with the colorful set designs and large-scale musical numbers. The music is no less wonderful than you would expect when you have Gene Kelly working with music written by Ira Gershwin.
This film is an amazing example of the many talents of Gene Kelly and many of the stars of the Golden Age of Hollywood. The dancing and singing are entertaining and done at the highest level.
