For Jimmy Stewart this was a second start to his magnificent career.
This film would be the last film of Stewart’s before he left for war. With World War II breaking out Stewart had enlisted and was commissioned as a second Lieutenant in January 1942.
Stewart was also impressive as he played a role that took him into a new genre of films. He would later act in other Westerns including The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance and The Shootist to name a few.

As the world headed for war this film seemed to be an escape as it focused on the small things, small values in life. It’s an amazing film that feels relevant even today.

Despite diving into marriage, the couple find that they’ve got aspirations on opposite sides of the globe which create an emotional rollercoaster.
