Best Film Editing Winners

oscarsBest Film Editing

After hours and hours of film have been shot it’s up to an editor, or a team of editors, to put the footage together to tell a story. They get to sift through the hours of takes to find just the right combination. Editors have a chance to define the way people will remember a film. Great editing can make a scene come alive with suspense, comedy, or terror. For their hard work editors have been recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences since 1934. It’s interesting to note that more than 45 percent of the Best Picture winners have also won this award since it was created.
